Enjoy the best Winter has to offer in the Eisack valley

Treetops covered in snow and white peaks. Blue skies and freshly fallen snow. Winter can be so enchanting – and you don’t have to go far from Pension Torggler to find all of this. From the end of December to the end of March the Winter bus „Dolomiti Skisafari“(free of charge with the KlausenCard) will pick you up and take you to some of the best slopes in the area – the sunny Plose by Brixen, the world cup slopes in Groden or the Sellaronda, the biggest skicircuit in the world. Your ski holiday in the Eisack valley offers more though : Kronplatz in Bruneck, ski centre of Gitschberg Jochtal by Meransen and the Seiser Alm are all only a few kilometres away. Each day a different slope, whether you are a beginner or advanced skier, a skiing holiday in the Eisack valley makes sense.

Do you prefer sledging?

No problem, the eight sledgeruns on the Villanderer Alm, the Kuhberg or Jochalm are all super for a family days sledging or for sledging professionals. You can warm up for your sledging adventure with a cup of tea and an apple strudel in one of the many mountain huts beforehand.

Winter walks

If you prefer to use your own two legs, there are some fabulous winter walks leading over the snowcovered pastures of Villanderer, Feldthurner and Latzfonser Alm. A stroll among the glittering snow crystals and sparkling icicles and a truly romantic winter wonderland is awaiting you. Or, you could choose to venture out on cross country skis, there are two cross country skiing trails to skate or glide along over the Villanderer Alm.

Christmas market

Advent just has to be a romantic time. Not only the children’s eyes will light up after a visit to the Christmas market in the city square in Brixen (from end of November to beginning of January). Klausen is also picturesque at this time of year. The medieval Christmas market is lit up by candlelight every weekend from the end of November to the end of December. Nightwatchmen wander the streets, medieval music rings out of the lanes, Christmas just as it used to be!
