Hiking in the valley of trails

Get your walking shoes on and set off up into the mountains! Eisacktal is covered with a great number of trails which join the valley to the mountains. Whether you are expert climbers, weekend walkers or want to enjoy a family day out, each one of you is sure to find whatever trail is best suited to them.

Pension Torggler is the ideal starting point for these adventures. There are some beautiful tours around Gufidaun which start right from the front door, for example to Klausen and the spectacular walk to the breathtaking convent „Kloster Säben“. Or you walk to Teis admiring the surrounding woodlands and meadows. Here, at the entrance to Villnoss valley, you can visit the mineral museum with the famous „Teiser Kugeln“.

Villanderer Alm

On the Villanderer Alm, one of the largest pastures in South Tyrol, there is a spectacular view and numerous hiking tracks. A highpoint during your stay in the Eisack valley could be a stroll through the shady stone pine forests and mountain pine fields to the Villanderberg, the geographical centre of South Tyrol.

Plose

The Plose lies just a few kilometres away, with its sunny slopes and numerous routes for tots to teens. The children will love the „Woody Walk“, a child and buggy-friendly walk with adventure playground stations along the way.

Explore some of our hidden secrets with one of our guided walks. If you prefer freedom, take the Summer hikers bus to where you want to go, it runs Mon to Fri. Don’t forget the Gilfenklamm Gorge and Waterfalls in Ratschings by Sterzing – reduced admission with the KlausenCard – from the path that has been built along the gorge you can admire the waterfalls and see how deep channels have been dug into the rock and white marble.
